“Urban and Rural Group Poetry" is a long-term art project containing a large number of small-scale activities, which mainly focuses on the poetry existing in urban and rural spaces, and tries to explore and present the existence of this poetry within urban and rural spaces through the combination of daily objects, the relationship between objects and the environment, as well as certain dynamic interventions.
"Twelve times that the water stood still" is is the first series of the "Urban and Rural Group Poetry" art project.I used "water" as a cue to create a set of events in my hometown of Jilin. Due to the control of the epidemic, many of the expected locations were transformed into residences or neighbourhoods. These objects are connected in an ephemeral way to different "waters" and together they form a short poem that exists in the city. These events could be a man-made rain on a roof, an island in the Songhua River being flown by a kite, rain boots rising and falling on either side of a seesaw .......
These twelve events are like twelve little "hydrologies", where these objects and different "waters" create fleeting connections that together form a set of short poems that exist in the city, a set of "water" poems. These events are just a "presentation", we just watch them appear and disappear as detached, dispersed particles of smoke, like raindrops falling in the sea, and we never find them again, but we know that they existed briefly, and will dissipate in the form of dissipation, and in the form of dissipation they will exist eternally. In short, in the end, they will all return to the peace with which they began, fulfilling a return that may have long been foretold.
